This year we are very happy to be able to provide a Domestic Violence training series in conjunction with the Woman and Children’s Alliance. This series will consist of six (6) 90 minute sessions. Each session will build upon the previous session so attendance at all sessions is preferable. A breakdown of the subject matter is as follows:
February 16 - DV 101 (this will include differentiating between abuse and poor behavioral responses to abuse)
March 15 - Trauma-informed techniques and identifying and responding to abusers
April 19 - The effects of DV on children and creating realistic, safety-conscious Parenting Plans
Sept 20 - Environmental considerations: boundaries with abusers and victims
Oct 18 - Considerations with same gender couples
Nov 15 - Self-care for practitioners
In addition to our Domestic Violence series, we are also offering the following training sessions over the summer:
May 17 – Lunch with Judge Jill Jurries – Come learn about her perspective regarding mediation
June 21 – Mediating landlord/tenant and eviction cases – Gary Neal
July 19 – Understanding credit reporting – Jordan Ipsen
August 16 - Understanding insurance cases
